Raven Guard Drop Pod Hazard Stripes

The first drop pod is now basecoated and all taped up ready for hazard stripes to be painted on. It was abit of a hassle, but it should add some much needed colour to my army.

I have painted one door to get an idea of how it will look when its finished. The rest will be batch painted.

After the hazard stripes have been painted, it will just need a few touch ups with black, the yellow stripes weathered with a small amount of Vallejo Black Grey, to make it look used. Then I can start chipping the outside panels with boltgun metal and adding the Raven Guard decals. Then time to crack open the FW weathering powders. More pictures to follow as it gets painted...

Raven Guard Scouts - Combat Blades

The first few of my combat blade scouts are finished! I will have at least 10 of these guys in my army, and many more scouts with shotguns and sniper rifles. The goal is to hopefully be able to field the full 10th company as well as a full battle company, so I better get back to painting!

Epic Thunderhawk

So yesterday my Epic Raven Guard were deployed for the first time in a 2000pt game vs. Orks. Which meant the night before I was maniacally painting up my Assault Marines, Thunderhawk and Thunderbolt fighters.

Unfortunately for me, a rather reckless and unlucky assault from my Thunderhawk loaded with Assault & Devastator marines failed to stop an Ork horde at the end of Turn 1, leaving me with a rather small fighting force for the rest of the battle.

The Raven Guard have requested Titan support for the next battle, lets hope that goes better.

Shadow Captain Corvane Valar WIP

Progress has slowed down abit these last few days, got a few more marines based and finished. Now working on some more Epic as a break from the 40k slog. I have a Thunderbolt squadron, Thunderhawk and Assault Marine detachment staring at me, waiting to be painted. Better crack open the paints then!

I have also started work on the Shadow Captain of the 5th Company, Corvane Valar. This is a simple conversion of the Sicarius finecast model. All Ultramarine logos have been cut out with a sharp knife and any gaps left have been covered with purity seals and skulls (that were carefully cut from boltguns). I have also replaced Sicarius helmet with a FW Raven Guard.

Tactical Combat Squad

Hi,

I've just finished basing a few more marines and I now have a combat squad of tactical marines ready for battle! Hopefully should finish the rest over the weekend.

Got alot on the painting table right now, the first tactical squad is nearly ready for deployment, just waiting for water effects and basing stuff to dry, and a few more RG decals to apply (which are a pain!). I have finally finished my Raven Guard Librarian; Codicier Kaius. He has been based as the rest of my army will be, on a toxic wasteland/death world themed base. GW water effects has been used to create the murky water, look out for the submerged battle debris resurfacing on future bases!

I have around 1500 points here painted; to bump it up to 2000 I am currently painting an Assault Marine detachment, 2 Thunderbolts and a Thunderhawk.

Raven Guard Librarian - WIP II

So today I have been painting my Librarian, its nearly finished, just needs some final touch ups, base painting and a coat of matt varnish.

In the late 90's when Epic: 40,000 was being discontinued I purchased the starter set and the space marine battleforce at a 50% off GW sale. Never painted these have sat at the back of my cupboard for the last 14 years, up intill now.

Raven Guard Librarian - WIP

I've finally got round to putting together the Librarian for my new Raven Guard army. The model is an old Librarian model from the mid 90's that I got for cheap off ebay. I've dressed it up with a Raven Guard shoulder pad and backpack from Forgeworld. The backpack had a few bubbles, but nothing a little bit of liquid green stuff couldn't fix! Its now ready for a quick tidy up once the green stuff has dried and then its ready for basecoating.
